#### 1. Nicomedes Revisited

Note: This method works even when length of AB is not equal to k.

This model is for solving the mean proportional equation:

2k / y = y / x = x / k

or x^{3} = 2 k^{3} and y^{3} = 4 k^{3}

There are 2 ways to accomplish this : Using Conchoid curve and marked ruler.

### method #1 Conchoid

You can see the process in animation.

**To create this drawing and animation: **

** Load modified_Nicomedes_Delian.lsp (load "modified_Nicomedes_Delian")**

Then from command line, type **test_0 **

### method #2 Marked Ruler

You can see the process in animation.

**To create this drawing and animation: **

** Load modified_Nicomedes_Delian.lsp (load "modified_Nicomedes_Delian")**

Then from command line, type ** mod_Nicomedes **

To create animation, run make_wmf to output 12 wmf(0 - 11).

Then convert them into animation GIF file format.
